About the Role
You will evaluate firmware and hardware releases, identify safety and vulnerability risks, diagnose complex failures, and manage RMA claims with vendors. You will create monitoring and automation tools, document reliability findings, support real-time troubleshooting, and participate in hardware incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or computer science field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of hardware reliability engineering experience
- Firmware analysis, hardware specification review, and release validation expertise
- RMA process and vendor negotiation experience
- Ability to diagnose complex intermittent hardware failures
- Knowledge of data center hardware components
- Python or Bash scripting proficiency
- Experience with a systems language
- Data-driven reliability engineering skills
Responsibilities
- Analyze firmware packages and hardware specifications
- Perform security scanning and vulnerability analysis on firmware components
- Diagnose hardware failures through testing and data analysis
- Manage RMA claims and vendor resolutions
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware systems with data center operations technicians
- Develop monitoring tools, scripts, and processes
- Document failure modes, root-cause analyses, reliability models, RMA outcomes, and evaluations
- Participate in on-call rotations and hardware incident response
