About Towns Protocol
Towns Protocol is an open-source protocol for decentralized, real-time messaging applications. It combines an EVM-compatible L2 chain, decentralized off-chain stream nodes, and smart contracts deployed on Base to support permissionless, programmable communication Spaces with ownership, on-chain memberships, reputation features, and end-to-end encryption. Its ecosystem includes a user-facing app, staking and governance for the $TOWNS token, developer documentation, bot competitions, and an academy for building bots and apps.

About the Role
You will design and maintain React application features with TypeScript and occasional Go. You will build responsive interfaces connected to blockchain protocols, manage APIs and services, optimize application performance and security, write tested code, and collaborate with product and design partners to address user needs.
Requirements
- Strong React development experience with TypeScript
- Experience developing applications that interact with blockchain networks such as Ethereum or Polygon
- Familiarity with React Vue or Angular
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors
- Experience with RESTful APIs gRPC GraphQL and blockchain data interactions
- Understanding of smart contract integration
- Familiarity with ethers.js or web3.js
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
- Experience with dApps is preferred
- Knowledge of decentralized identity and authentication is preferred
- Experience with IPFS or Arweave is preferred
- Familiarity with Dune Analytics or The Graph is preferred
- Go familiarity or willingness to learn is preferred
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is preferred
