About the Role

You will own product design from the first sketch through the shipped product. You will establish the visual and interaction language for the core product and create the systems and documentation needed to scale it. You will shape brand and marketing materials through illustration layout and original creative work. You will collaborate directly with engineers to prototype and test ideas use AI tools to explore solutions talk with customers to validate decisions and establish the tools process and quality bar for design.

Requirements

• Strong product design fundamentals including interaction design and systems thinking
• Ability to simplify complex financial products
• Demonstrated creative range in graphic design illustration art direction or similar work
• Portfolio demonstrating creative work beyond user interface design
• Track record of owning ambiguous projects through successful outcomes
• Comfort building processes without an established playbook
• Active experience using AI tools such as Claude ChatGPT or Cursor
• Experience at a fast-growing startup ideally in a founding or early design role
• Based in San Francisco

• Own product design end to end from initial sketches through shipped products
• Establish the visual and interaction language for the core product
• Build the design system and documentation for future team growth
• Direct brand marketing site decks event graphics and social content
• Create illustrations layouts and original creative assets
• Pair with engineers to prototype test and ship ideas
• Use AI tools to clarify problems explore directions and prototype flows
• Talk to customers to validate design decisions
• Set design tools processes and quality standards
• Help hire future designers
