About the Role
You will lead technically rigorous and safe flight test campaigns for aerial autonomy systems. You will gather requirements, create test plans and safety materials, provision operational resources, conduct tests, analyze results, and report recommendations. You will coordinate with customers, test ranges, vendors, and technical experts to support successful test operations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional flight test experience
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- Experience leading test planning, reviews, and safety reviews
- Experience authoring test plans, hazard analyses, communication plans, checklists, and test cards
- Experience serving as a test conductor or test director
- Experience analyzing test data and authoring test reports
- Experience supporting acquisition, test, and evaluation of aviation systems
- U.S. citizenship
- Active U.S. security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Responsibilities
- Gather and clarify test requirements from stakeholders and program managers
- Create test plans, hazard analyses, test cards, and checklists
- Provision personnel, equipment, facilities, procedures, schedules, and test ranges
- Execute tests as a test director, test conductor, or system operator
- Analyze test results and support engineering analysis of test data
- Report campaign progress and recommend next actions
- Coordinate with customers throughout planning and reporting
- Identify flight test staffing needs
- Provide aviation expertise to software developers and hardware integrators
- Build relationships with DoD experts and UAS vendors
- Develop partnerships with test ranges
