You will define specifications, evaluate build‑vs‑buy options, source long‑lead mechanical and electrical equipment, and secure supplier commitments. You will translate project requirements into scopes, schedules, and logistics plans, influence engineering decisions for constructability and cost, troubleshoot supply chain risks before they hit the field, and coordinate contractors, vendors, and cross‑functional teams to keep projects on schedule.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, cost estimating, or procurement for data center, industrial, or infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or related field)
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, chillers, and HVAC systems
  • Experience in procurement or supply chain functions sourcing technical equipment and working with manufacturers
  • Experience working directly with suppliers, fabricators, and technical partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, design, and construction teams
  • Ability to think about systems, tradeoffs, cost, lead time, and constructability
  • Builder's mindset with experience creating processes and systems

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical and electrical equipment from specification to delivery
  • Influence design and engineering decisions with supply chain and equipment insights early in projects
  • Evaluate build versus buy strategies and recommend sourcing approaches
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for vertical integration and strategic partnerships
  • Review designs for constructability, availability, lead times, and total cost
  • Manage supplier and manufacturer relationships to meet technical standards and timelines
  • Develop and maintain equipment standards, documentation, and qualification processes
  • Design logistics, material flow, and inventory plans to support fast build schedules
  • Forecast and mitigate supply chain risks and equipment bottlenecks
  • Coordinate contractor and vendor engagement and translate project requirements into clear scopes and schedules
