About the Role

You will own and execute the data strategy, leading the combined Data Engineering and Analytics function. You will build scalable data platforms, pipelines, governance, and infrastructure; partner with Engineering, Product, and business stakeholders; support AI and agentic capabilities; and embed compliance, auditability, and data quality into the platform.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in data engineering, AI, architecture, and pipelines.
• Experience building or significantly evolving a modern data platform in a regulated financial services environment.
• Knowledge of compliance, auditability, and data quality at the architecture level.
• Experience applying modern AI and agentic systems thinking to products and platforms.
• Experience leading and scaling multi-disciplinary data teams.
• Ability to work in high-ambiguity scale-up environments.
• Ability to translate between business outcomes and technical reality.
• Eligibility to live and work in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data strategy.
• Build data platforms, pipelines, and governance.
• Unify data engineering, analytics, and architecture into a cohesive function.
• Set the operating model, rituals, and standards for the data function.
• Architect infrastructure that sources, structures, and serves data.
• Partner with Engineering and Product on data foundations for AI and agentic capabilities.
• Enable self-service reporting and operational intelligence.
• Lead architecture reviews, design decisions, and pipeline trade-offs.
• Represent data to executive stakeholders and the Board.
• Embed compliance and regulatory considerations throughout the platform.
