About the Role
You'll join the Data Engineering team building a powerful data platform that helps teams across MoneyLion create better products and experiences. Working with modern tools like Apache Iceberg, you'll help build an open, efficient, and connected infrastructure. You'll get hands-on experience with cloud technologies, contribute to data pipelines, and support projects spanning machine learning, analytics, and product development. Note that this internship is only open to Malaysian nationals, with final year students preferred.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and SQL
- Understanding of database concepts, ETL pipelines and foundational data engineering principles
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably AWS), distributed computing (e.g. Spark) or orchestration (e.g. Airflow) is a plus
- Has a deep sense of ownership towards professional development, day-to-day responsibilities, and self-learning
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
- Eager to learn quickly, stay curious, and adapt to new technologies with enthusiasm
- Malaysian nationals only, final year students preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and delivery
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver high-quality datasets
- Help maintain data platforms and support data governance efforts by managing data access
- Contribute to documentation and best practices for data engineering workflows
- Learn and work with tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, AWS and SQL/NoSQL databases
