About the Role

You will translate questions into insight and partner with cross-functional teams to turn ambiguous business and operational questions into clear actionable analyses. You will write clean SQL against PostgreSQL, Trino, and Apache Iceberg to power core metrics and dashboards. You will surface metrics through Metabase and explore data with Python in a Jupyter notebook to understand trends and trading behaviors. You will help standardize core data entities and support self-serve reporting.

Requirements

• Strong SQL fundamentals, including joins, CTEs, window functions, and clear query structure.
• Familiarity with analytics engineering workflows and building data models or metrics tables with dbt or similar tools.
• Strong analytical intuition and ability to synthesize clear conclusions.
• Proficiency with Python, Pandas, NumPy, and Jupyter Notebooks.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical partners.
• Ability and willingness to learn broker-dealer operations, clearing infrastructure, execution lifecycles, and financial accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business and operational questions into clear analytical outputs.
• Build and own analytics data models using PostgreSQL, Trino, and Apache Iceberg.
• Build metrics and tables with dbt and surface them through Metabase dashboards.
• Explore trends, anomalies, profit and loss calculations, and trading behaviors using SQL and Python.
• Standardize core business entities and transition ad hoc requests into self-serve environments.
• Support reporting capabilities, report automation, recurring report cataloging, and report standardization.
