About the Role
You manage appraisal assignments from client intake through final report delivery. You coordinate clients, specialists, schedules, timelines, invoicing, valuations, documentation, and project records. You draft and assemble USPAP-compliant reports, support onsite examinations through photography and cataloguing, communicate with clients, and contribute to process improvements and workflow initiatives.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in personal property appraisal, art research, or a related art services role
- Current USPAP certification, such as 15-Hour USPAP or equivalent
- Professional designation such as ASA or AAA in progress or achieved
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple active project files
- Strong written communication skills
- Experience in one or more personal property categories, including fine art, decorative art, jewelry, silver, furniture, or collectibles
- Comfort with technology-enabled workflows and digital collection management platforms
- Familiarity with auction databases and art market research tools such as Invaluable, AskArt, MutualArt, or Artnet
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Comfort with CRM systems and project management platforms
- Ability to travel for onsite examinations
Responsibilities
- Manage an active portfolio of appraisal assignments from initial engagement through final report delivery
- Coordinate client intake, specialist outreach and scheduling, timeline tracking, and invoicing
- Serve as the primary client contact on assigned projects
- Communicate status updates and answer procedural questions
- Draft, edit, and assemble USPAP-compliant appraisal reports
- Incorporate specialist valuations, market research, and comparable sale data
- Coordinate with internal and contractor specialists to obtain valuations and supporting documentation
- Perform and support onsite examinations of personal property collections
- Photograph and catalogue personal property collections
- Maintain accurate project records in CRM and project management systems
- Flag status changes, scope adjustments, and timeline risks
- Contribute to departmental process improvements, template development, and workflow initiatives
