About the Role
You will investigate alerts generated by the AML Transaction Monitoring system and review suspicious transactions and activities. You will help improve alerts, reduce false positives, identify system weaknesses, and propose improvements. You will prepare suspicious transaction reports, financial security reports, dashboards, and information related to law-enforcement or financial-intelligence-authority requisitions. You will also support embargo restriction implementation and participate in financial security training and awareness activities.
Requirements
- Proficiency in spoken and written French and English
- Bachelor’s degree or above in IT, finance, criminology, risk management, or a relevant discipline
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in AML Transaction Monitoring and/or Sanctions Screening at a financial institution
- Knowledge of AML/CFT risks
- Knowledge of UEMOA financial security regulations
- Strong computer skills
- Analytical skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Compliance certification such as ACAMS is a plus
Responsibilities
- Conduct investigations on alerts generated by the AML Transaction Monitoring system
- Enhance alerts to reduce false positives and prioritize suspicious activity investigations
- Support the review of reports generated by other analysts
- Identify Transaction Monitoring System weaknesses and propose improvement measures
- Generate Financial Security reports
- Participate in financial security awareness-raising and training activities
- Investigate suspicious transactions and activities
- Prepare suspicious transaction reports
- Draft reports and update dashboards for decision makers
- Assist with implementing regulator-issued embargo restrictions
- Gather information about requisitions from law enforcement authorities and financial intelligence authorities
