About the Role
You will develop multimodal foundation models for precision manufacturing applications. You will curate data, build simulations, train and evaluate models, validate them on industrial robots and production parts, deploy them, and write maintainable production-quality R&D code.
Requirements
- Pursuing a PhD in Robotics, AI, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Research experience with foundation models for robot manipulation
- Python proficiency
- Experience with PyTorch or another deep learning framework
- Knowledge of world-model and foundation-model research
- Experience with robotics simulation or physics-based modeling
- Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or policy optimization
- Experience with ROS or ROS2 and real robotic hardware deployment
- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Responsibilities
- Develop foundation models for high-precision manufacturing applications
- Validate models through testing on industrial robots and production parts
- Own data curation, simulation, model training, evaluation, and robot deployment
- Write maintainable production-quality code for internal R&D
