Hopae is an identity-verification technology company offering global eID access through its Hopae Connect platform. Connect provides a unified API, hosted OIDC flow, and direct REST API integrations for verification against government, bank, and private identity providers. Hopae also offers an accredited, eIDAS 2.0-compliant wallet SDK. About the Role
You will write code that forms the foundation protecting and connecting the digital identity of users around the world. You'll design and develop the global authentication platform, building and maintaining core backend systems and high-availability infrastructure for hConnect. You'll integrate with diverse identity systems by developing and extending modules that connect with national electronic ID (eID) systems and external identity services worldwide. You'll build scalable systems, ensuring stability while progressively improving them to handle future traffic growth and feature expansion. You'll design flexible and scalable APIs that enable seamless integration with internal services and external partners. You'll also help foster a strong code culture by collaborating with teammates through code reviews and writing clean, maintainable code.
Requirements

- Goes beyond simply using frameworks; explores how technologies work at their core

- Solid understanding of Node.js and TypeScript, with at least 2 years of backend development experience
- Strong CS fundamentals and hands-on mastery of at least one technology
- Practical experience with OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Access Token flows
- Built early-stage products and learned from scaling them to meet business goals
- Experience addressing compatibility challenges across browsers and mobile platforms
- Experience with test automation and efforts to continuously improve code quality
- Designing and operating architectures that support high-volume traffic
- API Gateway / PaaS / SaaS development experience
- Experience with Docker, RabbitMQ/Kafka, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
