About the Role
You will build and operate bounded contexts of the NeoCloud SRE platform. You will turn approved designs into production services through GitOps and CI/CD, meet SLOs, keep services drift-free, maintain on-call ownership, and create design documentation, runbooks, and tests.
Requirements
- 7+ years of production software engineering experience
- 2+ years operating services you built with real on-call experience
- Mastery of Go, Rust, or Java
- Python proficiency
- Distributed systems knowledge, including idempotency, back-pressure, leader election, consistent hashing, gossip, CRDT, Raft, and Paxos
- Production observability experience with Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Mimir, Thanos, Loki, Elasticsearch, Tempo, Jaeger, or OpenTelemetry
- Experience with Argo, Flux, Helm, Kustomize, Cosign, and GitOps
- Experience writing Kubernetes controllers or CRDs
- mTLS bootstrap and certificate rotation experience
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault or AWS KMS or GCP KMS
- SQL and time-series data experience
- Testing experience
Responsibilities
- Build and operate one or two bounded contexts of the SRE platform
- Turn approved designs into production code delivered through GitOps and CI/CD
- Maintain declared SLOs and prevent configuration drift
- Take on-call responsibility for the services you build
- Create design documents, on-call runbooks, and PR descriptions
- Write and maintain unit, integration, contract, chaos, and soak tests
