About the Role
You will focus on strengthening peer to peer networking across Bor, Erigon, and Heimdall clients. You will diagnose and resolve hard-to-find issues in the peer-to-peer layer, investigate incidents, and contribute to root cause analyses. You will design, implement, and optimize networking components, improve network stability and propagation, collaborate with protocol and infrastructure teams, and document networking architecture and findings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems or infrastructure engineering ideally on distributed systems or blockchain clients
- Deep expertise in Go with strong knowledge of networking libraries protocols TCP and UDP and debugging tools
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems in live production systems with a proactive ownership mindset
- Experience working on peer-to-peer networking protocols or low-level infrastructure systems
- Comfortable working in a remote asynchronous environment across time zones
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and optimize peer-to-peer networking components in Bor Erigon and Heimdall clients
- Analyze and improve network stability by identifying peering bottlenecks protocol edge cases and propagation inefficiencies
- Investigate incidents and contribute to root cause analysis for network partitions peer discovery failures and gossip performance issues
- Collaborate with protocol and infrastructure teams to align client behavior with network goals
- Contribute to client documentation and architecture discussions around networking layers and system resilience
- Stay up to date with trends and developments in distributed systems and peer-to-peer infrastructure
