You assess life insurance claims within policy wording, claims procedures, and authority limits. You manage TPD claims, determine benefit entitlements and liability, communicate with clients, coordinate with stakeholders and service providers, participate in projects, and coach the team to improve case management outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience with TPD and medical non-disclosure
- Experience assessing life, lump sum, trauma, and income protection claims in the life insurance industry
- Ability to build rapport and empathy with customers
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field
- Medical, vocational, or rehabilitation background
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of TPD claims
- Assess claims and interpret and apply policy wording
- Determine benefit entitlements and calculate relevant benefits
- Determine liability within delegated authority and finalise claims
- Communicate with clients about claim management and enquiries
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in case conferences and peer case discussions
- Instruct and monitor third-party service providers
- Participate in company projects
- Coach and influence the team to improve case management practices and outcomes
