Platform Engineer
Antimetal builds an autonomous system for production engineering, providing a continuously updated 'world model' of a company's software stack combined with specialized AI agents that diagnose, fix, prevent, and answer questions about production issues. It serves engineering teams at software companies who need to operate complex production systems without constant manual intervention.

About Antimetal
Antimetal is building the autonomous layer between engineering teams and their running production systems. At its core is a live world model, a continuous understanding of how a company's stack behaves, built by connecting to existing observability, infrastructure, and code tools. On top of this world model sits an army of specialized agents (Proactive Patrol, Reactive Triage, Intelligence World Model, and an Agent Builder platform) that investigate incidents, trace failures, identify root causes, propose fixes, open pull requests, and carry out operational workflows on behalf of engineering teams. Unlike traditional observability tools that surface data for humans to interpret, or coding agents that only generate code, Antimetal aims to continuously investigate, operate, and improve production itself, while routing changes through existing approval flows such as pull requests or Slack approvals. The company serves software engineering teams, is SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA compliant, and is built in NYC.
Skills
About the Role
You'll architect and operate the systems that every agent invocation, every customer onboarding, and every code review depends on - our internal admin tooling, our deploy and observability pipelines, our MCP gateway, and the integration substrate that determines whether a new customer gets value in days versus weeks. You'll partner closely with product, FDE, and research, and your work will compound across every team that builds on top of you. You'll work across a couple tightly coupled areas, with flexibility on entry points matched to your strengths, spanning platform acceleration, service infrastructure, data infrastructure, and connectivity.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering, preferably at a high-growth or AI-native company
- Strong fundamentals in service-oriented architectures, networking, and systems design
- Proficient in TypeScript, with hands-on experience operating production services on Kubernetes
- Proven ability to take ambiguous goals from prototype to production, using customer feedback and operational data to drive decisions
- Strong code and data modeling skills
- Product-focused approach to platform work
- Use AI aggressively in personal engineering workflow
Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize the development infrastructure behind agent and product work, including internal admin tooling (Anvil), CI/CD, deploy pipelines, and dev/demo environments
- Build Claude-Code-native skills that engineers use every day to ship
- Build and maintain core service infrastructure on Kubernetes, deployment pipelines, and observability (OTEL, Datadog)
- Maintain shared libraries, secret management, and platform abstractions for product teams
- Own the schema, storage, and access patterns for investigation traces, agent trajectories, the resource graph, and customer telemetry
- Own the MCP gateway that routes every tool call
- Manage OAuth and credential management that keeps customer integrations authenticated
- Manage deployment and lifecycle of self-hosted MCP servers
- Maintain the unified integration catalog powering first-class integrations and the long tail
- Ensure token refresh at scale, proactive health checks, and isolation that holds when partner servers misbehave
Benefits
- Competitive salary with generous equity grants
- Fully covered health, dental, and vision
- Retirement benefits
- Unlimited PTO
- Dinner on late nights
- Monthly fitness stipend
- Equipment provided
- Citi Bike + train commute benefits
