Infrastructure Engineer (Staking)
ChainSafe builds open source, protocol-agnostic infrastructure and tools to empower developers and accelerate adoption of decentralization and web3.
About ChainSafe Systems
ChainSafe builds and maintains protocols with strategy assessment, implementation specs, cryptography, bridge integrations, and much more. We power decentralization with all core services necessary for protocol development such as RPC endpoints, staking, testnets, and observability. We help teams navigate complex builds from design to deployment by co-developing, providing strategic guidance, refining architectures, and launching systems that scale. Our work includes: - Protocol Development: Building protocols and powering ecosystems like Lodestar, Forest, Gossamer, and Optimism. We also conduct R&D to help teams implement their ideas and grow web3, tackling complex problems like zero-knowledge proofs and crosschain protocols. - Infrastructure: As proven blockchain infrastructure providers, we offer services to run fast, reliable networks that scale seamlessly. This includes custom deployments, RPC endpoints, automation, observability, testnet ops, rollup creation, decentralized storage, and snapshot services. - Staking: We are a trusted partner for delegating staking funds on networks like Lido, Celestia, Namada, and Kusama. - Co-Development: We provide strategic guidance and technical implementation, working side-by-side with teams from early design to long-term growth. - Gaming Co-Development: We offer end-to-end tools and multichain expertise to unlock a game's earning potential.
Skills
About the Role
You will architect, deploy, and maintain secure, reliable, and scalable validator infrastructure across multiple blockchain networks. You will manage cloud and bare-metal environments, automate builds and deployments, implement observability and incident response practices, perform key management and slashing mitigation, and optimize rewards. You will participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, document operational procedures, and collaborate with node developers and the broader community to resolve issues and scale infrastructure.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience architecting and operating blockchain nodes including RPC and validator nodes and securing validator keys
- Practical proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Rust, or Python
- Experience with modern Infrastructure as Code tools and CI/CD best practices
- At least 2+ years of experience working in Web3 with understanding of decentralization and infrastructure diversification
- At least 3+ years of experience managing resources in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with bare-metal cloud providers (e.g., Hetzner, OVH, Contabo or similar)
- Experience implementing observability and incident response best practices
- Experience administering and maintaining Linux hosts
- Excellent communication skills and ability to document technical details
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote setting
Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and monitor globally distributed blockchain validator infrastructure across multiple ecosystems
- Own infrastructure and services, performing upgrades, key management, slashing mitigation, and reward optimization
- Implement automation for builds, deployments, and observability
- Design, implement, and document infrastructure operation procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents to ensure high uptime and performance
- Support node development teams to resolve operational issues
- Collaborate with the community to expand and scale staking infrastructure
Benefits
- Remote-first work
- Flexible work hours
