About the Role
You'll join the Technology team as a Backend Software Engineer with a strong infrastructure mindset, working at the intersection of backend development and platform engineering with Kubernetes as a first-class concern. You'll help design, build, and evolve backend services and infrastructure systems that dynamically scale hundreds of servers daily, orchestrating isolated runtime environments inside Kubernetes pods. You'll focus heavily on Infrastructure as Code, dynamic scaling, and reliability at scale. If you enjoy working close to the metal while still writing application code, thinking in systems, and solving problems where application behavior and infrastructure behavior are deeply intertwined, you'll thrive in this role.

- Strong experience building and running Dockerized workloads
- Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript for backend services
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Experience designing and operating scalable backend systems in production
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
- Architect and evolve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) that drives dynamic Kubernetes scaling and orchestration
- Build and maintain Docker-based deployment pipelines and runtime images
- Design and optimize deployment and scaling strategies across many services and environments
- Collaborate closely with engineering and DevOps to ensure systems are resilient, observable, and secure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Document infrastructure patterns, operational workflows, and best practices
- Stay current with emerging tools and approaches in cloud infrastructure and backend systems
