About the Role
You will play a key part in ensuring ongoing compliance through transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and support of regulatory and law enforcement inquiries. You'll monitor transactions and account activity to identify unusual patterns and potential money laundering risks, conduct sanctions screening, and review merchant activity to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations. You'll also respond to subpoenas and requests from law enforcement and regulatory agencies, assist with internal investigations, and draft clear reports documenting suspicious activity and investigative outcomes. You'll maintain compliance policies and procedures, support internal audits, provide guidance to internal teams on high-risk behavior, and communicate with stakeholders including senior leadership on compliance issues.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in an AML compliance role, preferably in the crypto industry
- Blockchain tracing/analytics experience or Blockchain Analytic certifications is a plus
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and positive attitude
- ACAMS or similar AML certifications is preferred
- Pre-law coursework or relevant experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Monitor transactions and account activity to identify unusual patterns and potential money laundering risks
- Conduct sanctions screening and support related investigations
- Review merchant activity to ensure alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations
- Respond to subpoenas and requests from law enforcement and regulatory agencies
- Assist with internal investigations and collaborate with legal and compliance teams as needed
- Draft clear and comprehensive reports, including documentation of suspicious activity and investigative outcomes
- Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures relating to suspicious activity monitoring, sanctions enforcement, and regulatory reporting
- Support internal audits and testing functions related to AML compliance
- Provide guidance to internal teams on appropriate action related to high-risk behavior or accounts
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including senior leadership, on compliance issues and risk exposure
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve and strengthen the company's compliance framework
