About the Role
You will lead accounting for digital asset and OTC derivative prime brokerage activities and ensure accounting aligns with customer contracts and regulatory requirements. You will design and implement scalable, automated financial processes and end-to-end trading system reporting, perform and review month-end close tasks, prepare account reconciliations and journal entries, support internal and external audits, create and maintain detailed accounting and regulatory documentation, provide accounting guidance to cross-functional teams, and interact with regulators as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and/or fast paced startup/Fintech experience
- Expertise in US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 815
- Experience accounting for digital assets, prime brokerage services, digital asset borrowing/lending, and derivatives
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto economy
- Experience designing and improving prime brokerage accounting practices and intercompany accounting
- Advanced Google Sheets skills for working with large data sets
- NFA Series 3 License or ability to obtain within 6 months
Responsibilities
- Lead accounting for digital asset and OTC derivative prime brokerage activities and products
- Develop scalable and automated financial processes and controls
- Design and implement internal end-to-end trading system reporting and integrate external software tools
- Perform and review month-end accounting close for brokerage legal entities
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Support internal and external audits
- Create and maintain detailed accounting and regulatory reporting documentation
- Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
- Provide accounting guidance to product, brokerage operations, legal and engineering teams
- Interact with regulators such as the NFA and CFTC
